Episode 71 , Reminiscences of Captain Gronow, Part 1

Today I launch a new book on this blog. It's one I enjoyed immensely, a combination of military memoir and a rare insight into the society of the day. Here's the official blurb for the book.

"A collection of memoirs about the Peninsular War, the Battle of Waterloo, and society and personalities of Regency London and 19th century Paris, by a sometime Grenadier Guards officer, unsuccessful parliamentarian, and dandy.
